I decided to take advantage of Crafty Sheep’s September Color Challenge and stitch up another quick little pattern for my pillowcase:
I used Urban Threads’ Snuggle Bunnies pattern. (I blogged about the Foxy Sweethearts HERE.) It was an easy decision to use the Tan and Dark Brown flosses for the bunnies, leaving the Blue-Violet, Topaz, and Dark Red flosses for the scarf.
On my first attempt at the scarf, I fill-stitched the entire thing….and hated it!! I was so dismayed about the idea of frogging all that fill-stitching, but I just wasn’t happy with how it looked, so a’froggin I went!
I like the second attempt MUCH better, but it sure doesn’t highlight the colors chosen for the challenge quite the way I’d originally hoped so I’m going to see if I can find another little something to stitch up that will allow those colors to shine a bit more.
Thanks to Alexis for hosting the color challenge, because it spurred me to pick up my needle and floss and make a bit of progress on my pillowcase. And thanks to Kristi for linking to the color challenge and, in the process, turning me on to a new-to-me blog!
Floss Notes: DMC 333, 436, 498, 728, and 801. Bunnies’ bodies backstitched with 4 strands (2 strands for facial features). Scarf backstitched with 2 strands.
